Arundhati Roy (The God of Small Things, 1997; The Ministry of Utmost Happiness, 2017).
She is always worth reading. Fearless. Roy writes exposes of the abuses of power, especially in her homeland, India, and in the USA.

Both Noam Chomsky and John Pilger commentaries and observations are penetrating. While I think their views are often implacable and they don't always take into account the motivations for good amongst those whose actions they criticize, they are supremely worth reading and listening to. They force me to think through the matters they raise. Chomsky, especially, has a prodigious intellect and knowledge. I came across his work first in linguistics and only later in his critiques of US foreign policy and his work on Palestine and the Middle East. John Pilger died on 30 December 2023.
